When George Bird, the father of Ceylon planting selected the Sinhapitiya area as his first location to cultivate and introduce coffee grown in Sri Lanka in 1824, the key factors that supported his decision were elevation, weather and soil quality. It is that legacy we are protecting even today by growing and recreating those special island flavors that only Sri Lanka can produce.
