Sinhapitiya Estate — Gampola

Herb & Bean by Sinhapitiya Estate

Part of Ceylon’s first coffee plantation, now on a slow journey back to our ancestral agricultural roots

About & Estate History

The First Coffee Plantation in Ceylon

Sinhapitiya Estate, Gampola, situated in the midlands of Sri Lanka where the soil is lush and the climate is perfect for growing spices, tea and coffee.

Since the year 1824, Sinhapitiya Estate has carried with it, the legacy of being the first coffee plantation in Ceylon under the father of Ceylonese planting, George Bird. Nearly 200 years later, we are going back to our Sri Lankan roots by applying ancestral planting wisdom in our brand of agriculture in this mystical island paradise.
